I have a picture with my daughter as well so we got all 4 generations.

If you want to try the Double wedding ring pattern, go on to Eleanor Burns website. I am currently working on one using her method and it is very simple. good luck I love you picture--a real treasure

tumbling blocks, also a very common pattern. You may find slightly different variations of the name

What a lovely photo of 3 generations. You were lucky to know your grandmother. The quilt on the back of the couch is a double wedding ring. There are a variety of ways to make this, but it's not quite a beginner quilt, although I have seen some simplified versions that looked fairly easy. A little research might give you a simplified version. That quilt is one on my bucket list.
