My White 764 had a big reverse button that was stuck. Removing the button and oiling parts did nothing. A hot hairdryer melted some hidden residue and it works great now. It seems silly but try it. On high, for about 3 minutes.

Speaking of Kenmore machines - I have been trying to find a walking foot for my old Kenmore (1950's). Is this possible to find? Thanks.
