    My first quilt was also the same pattern and took me 20 more/less years to complete it as well. Machine pieced, hand quilted, stitch in the ditch. Love the layout of your squares, too! Keep up the good work.

    Well!! Thank you everyone, you are so encouraging I have loved every minute of it and yes, I am planning my second quilt, it's going to be a table runner for the garden table for summer lunches (I have added a photo of the fabrics I am using) but not got the pattern figured out yet.

    The navy border sounds like a good idea, I was thinking about what colour to choose and it has to be something contrasting don't you think, to bring the blue together.
