The lives and loves of 18" dolls
#162
I am about to attempt my first set of doll clothes as a present for a friend's daughter that is turning 4. THanks to Nancy and her ideas, she will get a doll, a few set of clothes, and a tea set. Thankfully I haven't mailed those patterns to NAncy yet, now I have to find them in the storage building :/

Count me in! I just joined the site. I've been making these doll clothes since the late 1990s and sold some at craft fairs though in recent years I haven't done craft fairs. I don't have any kids or grandkids but that doesn't stop me - I just love making the clothes, designing them, etc. I just use a few basic patterns at the moment and do variations on them with different fabrics and trims. I'll have to post some pix but it's late tonight so another time on that. Quite a few of the doll items I've made using 100% cotton quilting fabrics, then the scraps left over are available for quilt stash!

Sue: The Karate outfit is too cute. The amazing part is in fits just like the "real" ones do.
Bunny: Welcome! I don't actually make the clothes but I love seeing the pictures of everyone elses.
Thanks everyone for the vicarious thrill. I still have a possibilty of a granddaughter. It would be so easy to get into this, now that you guys have shared, it seems the 18 inch dolls are everywhere.

It's Autumn
My DD is dressing the dolls in their fall outfits. Samantha's birdwatching coat came with real mini binoculars.
The dresses are all my work.
