I didn't realize so many of you girls were commenting on this swap here! I just read through all the posts and it was entertaining. :-) I thought just trading fabric with others would be fun, but I see it's fun talking about it too! My third grandchild was born today--another little girl! and I'm looking forward to making her a quilt using I Spy charms.

I don't mind polka dots in one pair. But the main focus is novelty prints that kids will enjoy and easily identify. ;-)

The swap directions state (first post)- Please no flowers, lines, solids, etc. These will be returned to you. we need more children fabric. Trucks, houses, food, characters , sports, camping, lets did dig deep and send in different things.License fabric is welcome. Children's fabrics please!!

I think polka dots go under stripes and such. I like polka dot material but it doesn't fit the criteria of an I Spy swap. I do not put it in I Spy quilts but might make I Spy quilts with it. If I receive it I would be disappointed and not use it. I am doing 6 twists and I used the same criteria for the twists as the I Spy swap.

I like the double prints for possibly making memory quilts but more often I use it in two different quilts. I have twins and I find siblings or cousins like similar or same prints in their quilts too.

Here is an I spy I made for a girl using yardage of polka dot print.

I've also seen people make quilts with the same fabrics but different layouts with matching squares, especially for grand kids or nieces/nephews of similar ages. That way, when the kids get together they can play matching games with their quilts.

Lovely quilt, annaquilts. Does this swap happen often? I'm definitely interested but not sure I'll be able to participate this time around.
