Here are the wonderful blocks so far. I get my sewing machine back from its vacation at the repair shop tomorrow and have all the rest of the F8's attached to the pattern I will be making. Can't wait to get back to sewing!

    Default Marilyn's Boom 10 Design

This is the way I am setting up my finished blocks. They end up being a 20.5" square. I purposely put 1/2" between the corner of the 12" block and the sashing strips.... hoping the blocks will float up. And check out that sashing material. I found it in the fat quarter bundles at Joann's Fabric store. Couldn't have done any better than these...

    hugs, Jupiter

Jupiter, wow! Love you idea of setting your blocks like that. Did you already know you wanted to do this? Or the brilliant idea hit when you started receiving these awesome blocks?

I've just finished my last grownup for this swap and I'm really excited to be starting the actual quilts. Looks like Jupiter beat me to it! Very nice.

Jupiter - Great Idea!! And really would help with the "not quite 12" blocks.

    Default quilt setting

This setting just came to me one morning when I woke up with it. I get a lot of ideas that way. I had not planned the setting for these blocks ahead of time. It just sort of developed. With them finishing out at 20", I will have enough for 2 nice quilts. One for my granddaughter (she tries to claim 'dibs' on it every time she visits). I think it will be a nice Christmas present.

As for the block size, I am very proud to say that out of the many blocks already received from both groups I am in, not a one is off size. They are all perfect 12.5" X 12.5" . Great job ladies!

    hugs, Jup
