Your quilt is truly breathtaking! My son would love a Harley quilt. Guess I better start looking for those Harley sheets that someone mentioned in an earlier reply. Best of luck to you at the quilt show. Keep us posted!

The front emblem, backing fabric, and strips of flames on the back were from a Harley sheet set.
When I used black batting I noticed the backing fabric didn't look as crisp white so I lined the backing with white fabric. It worked. There were so many layers of fabrics and batting I used 90/14 topstitch needle and 40 weight thread. It worked well. I was concerned about too large of a needle which would have shown light through the larger needle holes. (I've seen it happen.) Maybe only a few needle holes would show light through if held up to a window. I was pleased.

I'll try again to add close up photos of the quilting to this current topic thread.. If I don't have luck, then I'll start another thread to show photos.
