You're right, the quilt turned out great! Grey and yellow are really popular this year. Your quilt has both a modern and a traditional feel to it. Wonderful job!

Absolutely great work! You can always save a little by using pre-owned/pre-worn material. Check garage sales and estate sales in your area. Get the word out in your community (neighbors) that if they have any clothes they don't need you'd be happy to take them off their hands. I picked up some flannel pajamas (nice ones) at a garage sale and washed and used them as backing. If you are able to pick up flannel receiving blankets, you can use them for backing by piecing them together depending on the size of quilt you need.
