Actually Grandma's was from the 30's, we think. Very expensive, but Grandpa ordered it from some store in New York and had it sent by train. She was the only one in the 3counties with an electric machine! The rest were treadle. I need to research, so thank you for the link. I have to have her in the house for a while before she gets a name...have to see here personality. This should be an adventure. Thanks for all the welcomes. I have been watching this section of the board and seeing all the machine and tips and tricks.

Congratulations. I know you will enjoy your new toy. I have 2 myself. I just entered this week in our Fall Fair, a pineapple block quilt(using the Foldy method on muslin) there are 80- 9" blocks in this quilt. I made all 80 on my 1937 FW,also sewed the binding on with this machine, the quilting very simple not to detract from the blocks was done on my 1985 Bernina 930. There are 45 pieces of Fabric on each block and each block takes almost an hour to make. I made all but 4 of the blocks and finished this quilt during the month of Sept. I completed it on 9-29 had to be turned in on 10-1. Needless to say I burned a lot of midnight oil on this thing. This will be a Christmas gift for my daughter. I have to add a big surprise. I won a blue ribbon plus a Best of Show ribbon on this quilt. I was totally shocked. I thought I might place and get a ribbon on this quilt but never dreamed I would ever get a Best of Show - a first for me. Our Fair is small and this year for some reason only our quilting group had quilts entered, we normally have 6-8 others in the community entering quilts.

I am so happy to have you join the FW club. If you go on mysingerstory.com you can put in your name, the serial number of your Singer sewing machine and get a printable certificate by e-mail. I have one for each of my Singers except for my EY white/celery featherweight. The serial numbers were some that were lost in a fire, so they don't have a record of them.
