I'm thinking I'd put a block in the center and radiate out in gradient 'colors' - IF you have enough blocks to do that. (much like your colors in your skinnies are grouped) Can you do a couple of layouts and post pics?
I have nothing for you on the skinnies! I toss mine without hesitation

The last one seems to be my favorite. As far as throwing away little scraps, I don't. They go to a local lady who makes dog beds for the humane society. At least they are not going to the landfill or wasted at $11-12 per yard. Someone probably does it in your area. Right now, I am trying to gather scraps for a young woman who has back issues and cannot work and can hardly walk. I have fixed up a machine for her from some I bought at a yard sale for $8.00 and refurbished it. If you don't keep the ones usable, you could donate to a thrift store and at least they would not go to the trash. Just a suggestion.

ok ladies....there's been too much stress in my life lately and the last thing I needed to stress over was how to lay out this quilt. So here it is....random.....only because I must be bsessive compulsive because it took me f-o-r-e-v-e-r to decide what to do. Everything tells me to lay it out in a gradient style, but that's only because I want everything I do to be perfect and I know it won't be so as they say 'don't sweat' the small stuff. Thinking about quilting it with variagated thread. If it's a pain to work with I will go with a solid color....what do you think?

It's beautiful. Your random arrangement is playful. I know what you mean about stressing about placing pieces. I'm so OCD when it comes to organizing a random layout. I could probably play with those pieces for days. BTW: I'm NOT obcessive about anything else in my home.

Don't have any suggestions for you, but just had to say that you have the beginnings of a beautiful quilt, and I can't wait to see what you finally decide to make. Whatever you decide is going to be wonderful.
