I'm thinking the problem was your bobbin was damaged before you started winding it. Plastic bobbin are known to do this even with just winding thread. Plastic only last so long and need to be replaced unlike metal bobbins, yet some of the modern machice can only use the plastic bobbins.

Plus one more advise it is better to buy replacement plastic bobbins at a dealer they have better made bobbins there then at those available in stores such as JoAnnes.

One think also to remember is pre wound bobbins are not to be reused, most are a one time use. Not sure about Superior's pre wound but those sold at JoAnnes and such stores are a one time use.

I've had the same problem winding Bottom Line thread with my Sidewinder. I think it's because the thread is so thin and it spins so fast. I don't have the problem if I use the bobbin winder on my machine.

Never had invisible thread snap the bobbin, but I did have it get wound around the shaft of the bobbin winder once. Took me hours with a pair of tweezers to get that one undone. That's when I decided not to use it in my bobbins anymore.
