Well, I better not get a spanking if mine is late! I am waiting on a mailing addy from my swappee, who happens to be....Brat!!
So, pm me that mailing addy, girl! Now I know your son is visiting, and a son visit beats the heck out of receiving a table runner! So I will just say pm me your addy when you get time. As I've said before, I don't know how you manage to do all you do, AND be happily optimistic while you're at it..I know about dialysis..and how by the time your strength gets back a bit, it's time to go back for it again. But thank goodness there is such a thing, to keep great people around!
Kif
And, maybe yours truly should've thought to ask Brat for her mailing addy sooner...lol

Default fabric tease

Good morning all - I'm taking Jackie over to Mayo this morning for allergy testing - in the past year she's been breaking out from more and more foods all the time and it's to the point she needs to keep an eppi -pen (sp) with her at all times so her regular doctor wants her to see an allergist. In the mean time Brian will drop oneteappot's runner off at the post office for me - here's a teaser on the fabric - LOL

You all have a wonderful day.

ok is that a snowflake by chance? cant wait to see it.

I am officially declaring today: RUN AROUND LIKE A CHICKEN WITH Your head cut off.. I know horrible image if you think about it but .. man how to do all I have to do in such a short time its going to be a magic act. Run left! run right! no run left again! Alex arrives tomorrow so clean the house today, go to docs in one hour, go to hospital for testing for transplant approval, to the market cant feed a boy with an empty fridge, put sewing things away (this is going to be my very sad moment btw) so the table is looking like I want to feed company.. oh yeah. and do it on my energy level which believe it or not sucks.. other than that I suppose I will just .. enjoy my day. Grand sunrise, had a peaceful hour, my neighbor brought me a thank you card and a stuffed hand made pumpkin this morning at 6:30 so what a nice start all in all. Just a busy one. So you guys, start running join the fun. My mom used to say that all the time to me.. guess I have been all over the place.. all my life!

Ok first: I finished my chores for the day! I can sew a tiny bit before I have to put it away! lucky lucky me! I wanted to say I am feeling good inside about it all and that is marvelous. Let me tell you all about my lucky week: early in the week oksewnsew sent me these wonderful gifts, a turkey quilt block, a turkey she made out of yo yo's and an ornament, oh yes and another ornament.. random act of kindness. Wow. Thank you. Then SandyinAZ sent me three cds, two Christmas ones and another she burned of her favorite songs which I am loving, she also sent stamps, a little pumpkin to add to my pumpkin collection and a beautiful sparkly pink/silver rhinestone type pin .. how wonderful and again a random act of kindness. Jaba came by yesterday to check out my quilt I am working on of hers and she brought me.. lasagna and brownies. Another random act of kindness. All this in one week. I could cry how lucky I am to have all of you in my life. You make me smile for no reason at all and this is such a good thing. My thanks are not good enough.

So in this mode yesterday in dialysis there is a man who sits in the chair next to me. We say hi, bye that stuff, he is older, on oxygen, diabetic.. I think wow I am so luckier than he is. A week ago we were all in the lobby and I asked how did everyone here make friends I was having so much trouble. he said he had trouble finding friends too he is home much and has no family or really any friends here.... anyhow I walked in yesterday and asked him if he has thanksgiving plans. He said no. I asked him to join the two of us for a small dinner and he said thank you he would love to. Deal is my hubby hates thanksgiving but he can deal with it. I am making a thanksgiving dinner. its my pay it forward. Thanks to you guys for inspiring me to do something kind also. See it goes around just in different ways.

Well, if I wanted to be a grump, now I can't be! Darn you Brat, spreading all your cheer and goodwill about!!
Seriously, broken record here, but you do continuously amaze me with your optimism! How great to have Jaba close to bring you lasagne and brownies!! Yummy! And to get happy goodies in the mail...woo-hoo!
I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised you rested a bit.. and in addition to you, 2 of our wonderful qb peeps pm'd me your addy, looking out for ya, girl! Sooo, I guess I had better get that runner into town and by post office..really no excuses now..I have extra "witnesses" ACK!!
I know you made that man's day, week, month by asking him to Thanksgiving dinner...and maybe your dh will enjoy it this year with another fella us there to share stories, possibly hunting/fishing stories..lol
Have a wonderful visit with your son!
Have a great day, all! See?? Brat's cheer is contagious!
From a not grumpy for the moment,
Kif

Love the sneak peek on fabric, dabbler. How did Mayo clinic appt go? 20+ years ago we had to take our son to OKC to a Pediatric Allergist. They would then mix up the serum, mail it to his Pediatrician here, and every week for 4 years we went for shots...and every 6 months back to OKC for re-checks. Hard to see your child go thru things, but I know we as parents will do anything to try and make sure our kids are well, safe, loved, and happy! He's 28 now, still suffers some with allergies...but nothing like it was. And thankfully we now have 2 Allergy Specialists close by.
Take care,
K

Went a lil slower with the stitching, and it was so much better than the last time I used metallic! Also if you have one, using a thread stand is supposed to help, as it gives more room for the thread to unkink prior to getting to the needle eye.
Take care,

(Note to self to find out what a "bobbin genie" is.) I'm using sulky regular in the bobbin and sulky metallic for the top as well. I've never bought or used sewer's aid before, but I have heard of it. I got the needles that my LQS suggested for what I was using it for. I don't know if Klasse' needles fit my machine, but I'd try it if it doesn't do this on me!

Binding is actually one of my favorite parts. It's like putting decorative icing on what could otherwise be a boring cake.

I got it in the mail today, but haven't had an opportunity to photograph it. I think she's going to love it! I have used the same fabric you used as binding on the runner I'm struggling with over this metallic thread

Also, Klasse' needles are just a brand like Schmetz, Singer, etc. They should fit most any domestic machine, I would think. I have used many of those brands, just happened to order a pkg of metallic needles in the Klasse' brand. If you want to try one with your metallic threads, I will put one in the envelope with a bobbin genie.

Interesting about the bobbin genies ... I haven't noticed a problem with the thread feeding from the bobbin case. However, I have had problems loading bobbins, NEW bobbins, several of them. I've bought new packs and had one or two of the four bobbins refuse to spin on the loading post because the center of the bobbin leans, rather than being perpendicular to the flat circular parts of the bobbin. Is there any fix for this, or are "bent" bobbins a lost cause? I should have returned them to the store, I guess, but it took me a bit to realize it was the bobbins, rather than my machine.
