i'd also use scotchguard. very pretty. being its a table cloth does it get batting also?

I'm going to use a single thickness of unbleached muslin as my "batting." Just a little something for the seams to nestle into, so three pieces of fabric - top, faux "batting", and backing.

That is, AFTER it's been washed. As the fates would have it, the pieced top was doused with apple cider during Thanksgiving dinner. No cranberry, no pickled beets, just sparkling apple cider.
