I put the boots under my kitchen table and have a great cutting area as well as an ironing area when I put the table protector stuff on.
Those boots are fantastic for quilting.

You can also use clay pots. I have 6 holding up a very heavy cutting table. Given how they break, you wouldn't think they were so strong,

What a great idea to keep something out of the landfill. I saw online where people took the big entertainment centers that don't work with the new TVs and made little kitchens for their small children. There are some very clever creative people out there!
