    Btw, there were some comments about using 7" squares rather than 6.75". I am making table toppers using only the center star so I tried the 7". They do work but be aware that you will have to trim off the square after you sew on the triangles. I'm lazy and I hate trimming so I am sticking with the 6.75" measurement but the 7" works fine if you dont mind the extra step.

    This question originally came from postal packin' mama. I had this "discussion" with another poster recently. In MHO, I think she is right in calling the triangle a half square triangle. That is what it is. I think all the rest of us use that term incorrectly. We all say a HST is the two triangles sewn together. But I don't think we'll be changing any minds soon, so we'll just have to live with it.

    Comment on HST. half square triangle.. sew two together and it makes HST sq. ....love this design! Thanks for the Tut. I did figure it out.. but it was nice to check to see if I had gotten the pattern right!
