ok just read back, can anyone tell me please what is 'red eye' gravy? never heard of it and spinach I love cooked! but steamed with garlic and butter on top and it is pure heaven. amazing how much green you have, then you cook it and its like this tiny little pile of stuff! my son used to beg for all of it at the table cook a big bag full for the family turns out to about one cereal bowl worth and he would say could he pleezzzzeee have more! and well sure mommy didn't want any (sigh) but when your kids beg for stuff like that? you give it to them

love the doll quilts that came in this month and thank you for posting my dq mary. it was fun to make for you a bit odd colors perhaps but fun to try something new.

Cracker Barrel restaurants have some of the best redeye gravy. Not sure if y'all have those in WY or not.
Redeye gravy is made from the drippings in the frying pan from salt cured ham. Some add coffee as the liquid to the pan to loosen up the stuck pieces on the bottom of the pan. ME.... I ain't never been able to make it right! but is is truly a Southern thing.

sorta like the gravy you put on chicken? in CA gravy is not necessarily a big thing. more light sauces under food, made with wine lol .. it seems smothering things is a southern thing? not that its bad just sure would not make for a normal sized BRAT if I got hooked on that stuff. best not try it. I love ham lol

anyone but me notice how Lisa came on here and managed to ignore the what might next months challenge be for those who want to start EARLY>>>>

The DQ I made for Nise arrived last week...she has been ill but did thank me and text me a picture of it in its new home. I have attached that photo, as well as the DQ in its other holiday modes. Being red and white, it also can be for Valentine's Day or a patriotic holiday...the center of the diamond has a small round "hook" spot that allows the felt reindeer, heart and star to attach.
