Never assume anything when buying from Goodwill.com. 99% of the time, what is shown in the pictures is what you get. That particular listing doesn't mention any attachments or accessories in the description either. In the future, remember that you can always email the Goodwill while the auction is active to inquire if there is anything included that isn't pictured. You are very a excited about this machine and I hope it turns out like you are hoping!!!

The machine (in the OP) could easily be turned into a handcrank since it already has the spoked wheel. If you want to use it as an electric, the electric control should still be hidden in the compartment. At least the actuator assembly and wiring are peeking out. It looks like it takes the round-type knee control lever, and if it doesn’t come with it, one could be made. I have one that someone made out of the flat-type knee lever with a modified pipe fitting added.

My 1st GW prize was very cheap, but I didn't realize that shipping was separate (dumb I know) so that my 10.00 prize came with a $39.00 shipping and handling charge. I always double check now. Other that I have had good experiences with GW. Good Luck!

I think I would hand crank that baby. she would make a nice one. you can always buy parts or find another donor that could be in worse shape. I have been seeing a lot of treadle machines on our Bis/Man sort of like Craigs list, but a lot of good stuff too. Someone in Bismarck has a FW they want $300 for.

And a good point - it's way easier to find the flat bar than the round ones - but for some reason it's way easier to find the cases that take the round bars than it is to find them that take the flat ones. The cutoff is about 1929-1930.
You can expect to spend $30- $50 for just the bar. If you get the case top- look inside it as sometimes they are still in the brackets that hold them.
