I think the dark green skinny border & then the border would make it look framed with a matting & allow the center to be the focal point.

I agree with the border stripe floral with the green edges right next to the body of the quilt, no in between borders needed! It's a lovely quilt!

Thank you so much for your thoughts and insights. I have taken the five top vote getters and made a new thread called Border Finalists--Appreciate Your Help so Much. If you are of a mind to do so, you can wander over there and see better pictures and some additional thoughts on which looks best. I have given up any thought of a white/gold border before the darker ones. I think the new pictures really help "see" how it will look.

I too like the stripe boarder right next to the blocks! Sometimes I put it on design wall for several days and just look at it in passing. Audition each choice this way if you have the time. Will you miter the border? It is going to be killer whatever you do!!

I would butt the border fabric right up against the top, it has it's own "stop" border.

I agree that you are not getting enough separation from blocks to border. I would put a 2-3" neutral (no visible print but maybe some marbling) border between the blocks and the outer border. Neutral and subtle, not a print at all. You want a place for the eye to rest before moving on to blocks or border.

Love the border print... and it's already got the skinny green strips in it. I think it looks great right next to the quilt.

I would say that you definitely need the skinny green border. It set off the quilt nicely But I am not sure about the wider border. I think I would look for another fabric but that is just me . However it may be o.k. You just have to keep trying different ones until you get the right combination.Sometimes it takes a couple of days of walking away and checking back With a fresh "eye".
