Default Handquilting

Okay, the pattern is Frog Work by Briarwood Cottage...

This is the finished top, no quilting....

My husband, bought me a new hand quilting frame for Christmas...

So I decided, as this is a hand embroidered quilt, that it should be the first one to go on the frame... I am a bit more than half way done now, and it's progressing nicely.

I stenciled two different sized lily like flowers on the different block sizes (pieced). Over the "plain" background filling blocks I stenciled a 1.5" crosshatch. And over the embroidery I stenciled a 2.5" cross hatch. I have been removing the stencil marks as I quilt.

The quilt is about 45x50 inches overall. The quilt has NO batting, just a beautiful bamboo velour backing. - which is thick, cozy and warm all on it's own.

Quite happy with the frame, as it's fully adjustable and tiltable. I can make it go up to 140" long for quilting, so plenty of space... or size it down for smaller quilts.

I've fallen in love with those froggies! And the setting blocks and colors are wonderful. I'm sure we all want to see it again when it's quilted - have fun doing it with your new toy ...
