Carriem your butterfly fabric looks great, love the solid background too. I tend to be a chicken and stick to white, cream or black for backgrounds, very boring really

My first block. I've already forgotten what I learned

Oh, yes, it was that I'm not going to use mixed neutrals within the blocks, dulls them down.

I'm doing 10" blocks, printed at 5" in the software, 4 pages worth to get the 8 blocks required.
50 blocks times 4 pages = 200 sheets of paper. But whose counting?

Stunning blocks all, well done!

Here's my AL star. I noticed a problem in the red after I got it together. I'm going to see if I can correct it easily.

I'd leave it. It looks nice, and you'd almost have to re-make the block. It won't make any difference in the long run.

Another suggestion for your books....have them 3 hole punch them and put into a binder. The binder can have other "page protectors" added to keep spare bits and pieces of patterns, fabrics, etc. And I can put the cover front and back on and print a spine note as to what it is, so I can easily find it on my book shelves.

Karen, your block and colors are amazing! Love the way the black and red pops on the white background. Now I have another color combination to consider........decisions, decisions, decisions.
