    Default Tukwila Washington

I found out today that I will be in Tukwila for one day in February. Now even though I am a born and raised Washington resident I have very little knowledge of the west side of our state. Where would you recommend I drag my DH off to for the day? LOL He really has no problem following me around shops, LOL

Pike Place Market has at least one quilt shop, my sister went there, or is going there this weekend. There's a cute quilt shop in Kingston, just off the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. There's a newer shop in Marysville, but it has some odd hours and is NOT open on Saturday's.

This is all about an hour north of Seattle, so I'm not sure you want to take that drive.

    This might help....maybe: http://www.wrbqinc.com/wa.php

I'm pretty sure there is no quilting shop in Pike Place Market. I've worked a few blocks from there for 10 years, and never heard of it. Also, there is none listed in their online directory. The closest fabric stores I'm aware of are "Stitches" on Capital Hill, which is NOT a quilt shop by any stretch of the imagination, and Nancy's Sewing Basket on Queen Anne, which likely has some quilting fabrics and supplies (I've not been to it in several years, so can't speak to what they currently carry).

Pacific Fabrics on 6th Avenue - the mother of all the other locations. It is in a warehouse on the 2nd floor. Whenever I visit - annually - it is my first choice. Undercover Quilts just south of the market is interesting. Ballard has a quilt shop owned by Lori Shifrin who used to manage for In The Beginning Fabrics. She is a sweetheart. Have fun - wish I was going too.

And there is Pacific Fabrics in Bellevue. Quiltwork Northwest is still in Bellevue I think unless they closed.

If you head south to Tacoma area, there's Parkland Parish, and in Orting the Wild Rose - I love both of these shops!
