There was an adorable owl child's quilt on the cover of the Spring addition of "Quilts and more". It is easy applique and I put it aside for a quick baby shower gift. It is designed with large pieces of fabric pieced to form a window. The fusible web applique owl sits on a branch in the window under a crescent moon. The pattern came in the magazine. There is a bonus pillow pattern that was listed at... AllPeopleQuilt.com/475...that might give you some ideas.

My niece wants me to make one of these. Would you be willing to share your pattern of the owl?

Default Owl quilt

Check on the Quilt Doodles site that was posted after this thread topic. Go to Store and scroll down the applique patterns-there is a cute little owl pattern that is almost the exact as the owl quilt shown here from The Quilters Newsletter. Joanns does have several owl prints-go to the childrens prints section-.

This makes me want to make a little owl quilt for a friend

Owls are in right now so you'll be able to find lots of patterns (some free even) and fabric. Happy quilting!

It may be too late but I just saw at least ten different owl fabrics at the online store called Fabrics.com.

At JoAnn's there are a ton of kid's fabrics with owls on them. Look among the novelty fabrics....

GROAN... caught again by not reading the dates! How do these ancient threads get resurrected?

Default So fast - it's a panel

So, I just finished this quilt. I started out wanting to do a quilt for my daughter, who wanted "owls". But, time was short. I found this panel by Springs (here's a link: https://www.fabric.com/buy/0307729/b...nel-blue-multi).

I finished it up by hand quilting (so there went the fast!), but she was very happy with it. I think Tucker was too!

I've seen (and purchased) some "Owl" fabric at Wal-Mart. The owls are not "realistic" (I mean that they're sort of "cartoon" characterized owls. When we were cleaning out my aunt's house, I found a beautiful pencil drawing of an owl (about 12-14" tall), and I intend to copy it and do some embroidery, at some point in time (if I live long enough! LOL). If you would like a photocopy of this drawing, let me know and I can either scan it in and e-mail it or mail you a photocopy of it!
