Those are the cutest kitties! I love the fish inside the one. The whole thing is really cute and well done. I would use black on the black fabric to avoid detracting from the kitties, but would probably use a different color on the sashing.

I agree with Dunster. First outline the cats. I wouldn't want to detract from those cute cats. You are going to have one cute quilt that should make you smile for a long time.

I love this quilt, it was the first quilt I made when I joined our local quilting group. It was finding the pattern on the internet which made me want to start quilting!
Mine is quilted around the edge of the cat blocks and then around each cat.
Here is a photo.

Very cute--yours looks more like the original than mine! I like the little hearts for the noses. I might make the crazy dog pattern one of these days. I sent a thank you note and a pix to the pattern creator. I appreciated the free pattern. To all who posted your kind comments and suggestions for quilting, I thank you also for your input. I think I am leaning toward the outline of kitties and meander in the black. I'm thinking circles connected by squiggley lines in the sashing--maybe a little daisy flower in the cornerstones, I "think" I can do it all on the machine. THO, I originally tho't of the big stitch quilting with white thread. I am so indecisive! ---but one suggestion was "just do it". I loved that, and she def had a point...get it done so I can enjoy it.
