Default Besides McKenna and Toni

I was just wondering who else makes the beautiful and adorable picture quilts besides McKenna Ryan and Toni Whitney. Do you know of any others? I LOVE looking at the pictures of the kits even if I will never do all of them.

Ann Lauer of Grizzly Gulch Quilts does some amazing things. http://www.grizzlygulchgallery.com/

Also, check out this retailer in Alaska which has unusual and beautiful patterns http://www.rushintailor.com/index.php

Yes, Rushin' Tailor's QuiltAlaska has a nice quilt shop. Got to visit there when our cruise shop stopped in Skagway, 2007. Bought a cute quilt kit with otters, which we did see while on the cruise.

I love these quilts but wonder do you just fuse the fabrics on .. so many jagged edges on the appliques how would you actually applique around these items? this is what gets me wondering.. it would be terrifically hard to do that I think.. and I am not sure I would like to spend that much money for just a fused quilt... afraid to wash it because its not appliqued down all over.

Yes you have to stitch it down, unless you are framing or under glass.

I have one in progress.. for a year now...and the parts not stitched are starting to curl up even though they are fused. And putting heat to them loosens the visible web, so a dryer would cause everything to lift.

These quilts are so attractive. I remember seeing a pattern of cute dolphins in the water in the mid 90s but never tried this technique due to the tiny cuttings of the fabric adhering to the background fabric of the quilt.
