I'm not working on a quilt this weekend. I'm working on valances for my LR. I have 7 windows in my LR (LOVE all the natural lite I get!!!) Last spring my mom sold her house and i got some of her furniture and other stuff. I started some curtains and valances, but something was off and I never was in love with it. A few weeks ago, I found some fabric at JoAnn's and bought it. After having a somewhat annoying time getting it - I really like the finished product. It is less formal and takes the "old-lady" feel from my LR and it helps to make the yellow & green "make sense" I have 4 valances complete - 3 more to go.

I'm working on a quilt for my sister. I had started it in July, and in October developed hip/back problems and couldn't sit. So now after surgery I can finally quilt! I just have a small section to quilt and then put the binding on. She has been saying she'll come visit me, which she and her husband have never done unless it's a holiday. So if she wants her quilt, she can come get it!

Yes. Carol Doak's Keepsake Cards. I'm sure any photo card would probably work. These are made for 3.5 inch blocks.

I want to sew a border on a sofa throw and ask my husband to help me put it together. We use my dining room table with the cover pad on and glue the backing, batting, and top together. We use small dots of Elmers school glue. I let it dry and then do free motion quilting. The glue works great and much better for my hands and back.
I do all my small quilts now hanging up on my planning wall and gluing together. So easy. No more little safety pins. I think I can finish it on President's day. Thanks for the motivation.

With record snow and icy walks, I've been inside for days. Finished a medallion wallhanging from Elisabrat & Jaba's thread, and started 3 Mystery Quilt sets. Raced to finish a baby quilt, but the shower was postponed. Today, we have sunshine and I will take the subway to meet friends for lunch. I suggested Panera's . It is kid-friendly and near my LQS.
Here are some photos. Cheers, Dotty in NYC
