Hoping I have the same experience - about it going together better than expected. Our guild is doing a workshop on that this weekend. Making a quilt for our queen bed. First time making a quilt for myself after 30+ quilts! Someone just asked about using pre-cuts. Using a layer cake to make mine where you used the red for a variety of values. Thanks for posting.

quilterscache.com has the pattern and then I watched the video for using the rapid star ruler and used that way but did not have the ruler just used regular ruler with 45degree it really worked pretty slick.

I also got some help from Dottymo here on the board she was really helpful maybe you could contact her.
