I am also humbled and amazed at the work I see done by DSM quilting. It was definitely out of my realm of expertise. So yes hats off and a deep bow to you ladies and gents who can do it and do it well. As for me.... I count my blessings every day that I was able to purchase a LA, have the room to set it up and the God given talent to use it.

I agree with you...I can't tolerate the pain in my hands, shoulders and back even when it's just a baby size quilt...which is all I will attempt on my little Brother...I have been very lucky and have found someone that has an older long arm and can only do 6-7 all over designs on the quilt but I can get a king size done for $55.....I can continue to quilt that way...besides I can admire all that fancy quilting but for my pieced quilts I think it takes away from the quilt itself when it's full of feathers and other "stuff".

I wish I had the choice! Would love a long arm but it's not in the budget, so I use the Juki. I do love my Juki and am glad to have it.
Cant pay to have quilts sent out to longarmers, either...
I don't have any pain from quilting on my DSM... if you are having pain you are probably doing something wrong... chair not high enough, holding tension in your shoulders, quilt not laid out where it can move as you need it to, etc.
