Glad that I am signed up for two more D4P, Working on my final set of the civil war one. May I send it in early if I identify the blocks as April's? They are a lot of fun to do. Thanks for hosting this!

hi Jane, I have finished 3 sets and they are ready to mail. I am so excited to see what the batiks look like when they get back to me in the next week or 2. Now I'm ready to start the patriotic sets when I see what you require in your new posting. I have got to quit having so much fun with you and get some of my projects worked on!!!

Shirting fabric is a lighter weight fabric that shirts were made from and usually go with the civil war heavier material. Makes a nice combination and good contrast. Keepsake Quilting has a nice layer cake assortment.

Quilt Lover Grandma's description is a pretty good one. Thanks and your blocks look great. For the Civil War swap, I'm specifically asking for light colored shirting so there is a good contrast.

Check out quiltshops.com and enter 'shirting' in the search window then click on thumbnails. You'll get pages and pages to browse. Keepsake and Hancocks of Paducah are also great resources. Any other questions, please ask!

Another asian fabric question. When ordering my fabric I tried to NOT order fabric that had metallic in it as I didn't know if that was ok or a no no. I got it today and 2 of them do have metallic in them even though it wasn't mentioned in the description. Is it ok to use it or should I order different fabric?
