I just love the idea of this! Thanks for sharing......I've always thought beds in a guest room just took up space - what a wonderful way to make the space useful! Kudos to DH...

I have always loved the murphy bed idea...and now my sewing room is in our daughters old bedroom. I'd like to keep the bed as a spare bedroom, but need more sewing space. I've looked at a murphy bed with a desk, but yours is perfect! Where did you get the mechanisms I know you said online...but what site?

We purchased a Murphy for our guest room, but I never thought about using it as a design board. Thanks for the idea. Our bed cost around $2000, so you're lucky to have someone that is able to do a project like this.

I want to turn our guest room into my sewing room. We also have guests about 2-3 times per year, so where the bed is wastes valuable real estate that could be used for sewing stuff! My husband retires in June, so I may make that one of his projects for retirement.

Excellent Idea. And it looks like your guest have one of your quilts to enjoy also.

Great idea - my sewing room is also my guest room - think I will have to check into that.

That's what we did too! Now I have a very nice and comfortable bed for guests. It's the best solution ever! Enjoy!
