I second this. I can whip out a kid's size in a weekend.

I don't have any one go-to pattern. I have ones that I love at the moment and will use a couple of times then find a new favorite, use and then see something else that catches my imagination...

My favorite is a Sampler - they are always different, always a new block to figure out and sew, finding out which block represents the person I am making the quilt for. Always something new, always a new quilt block to learn and know the history of (never end a sentence with a preposition).

Always exciting to see the outcome of each and every different quilt.

Always, always the Log Cabin. I absolutely love making them and the possibilities for layouts are endless as are the color combinations. Each Log Cabin is a different quilt top. Now I want to run into my sewing room and make a LOG CABIN! ;-))

I like Courthouse steps and D9P. Both will allow you to make the size square you need to fit whatever size quilt that you want to make. Also, by using one consistent color for either one, even scrappy quilts look cohesive.

In 40 years I've never made a quilt twice, but if you want to use up fabric pick something with small pieces. Big pieces barely dent a stash

I love Take 5. It makes up sooo fast & it is endless in arrangements a/o fabric usage! Love it!

This was a good stash-buster. But it was not quick and easy. I made it once; may do another (someday) with different colors.

It was from a magazine that is now 20 years old.
