Great work. You're not alone. I do the same thing! Unless the pieces are literally strings, why not keep them?

Good job in using all those scraps to make something that is going to be really pretty.

I've never seen anyone use one of these cutting machines, nor thought I would ever want one. But your demonstration -- these great cuts! -- have me intrigued. Probably will not ever acquire one, but the possibility is now there, in the back of my mind. How easy and fun it must be, using one for these kinds of cuts!

And congrats on rescuing all the scraps! Very clever....and economical. (Let's not talk about hoarding! )

Hi, luvToQuilt. I had to smile when you said "I'm a scrapper". There is a town in Arkansas whose local high school football team is called Scrappers! Two of my youngest brothers played on that team a number of years ago.

I like your idea of making every inch count....the birdies will have custom home decoration!

I am loving those fabrics and your not hoarding, your frugal. it's the best thing is when you can make a whole quilt from the things that you would normally just toss out. Please cut the stringy leftovers so the birds feet do not get tangled.
