I'm going to use mine to. Maybe I'll put it on my bed or we can use it as a cosy quilt when sitting on the sofa.

About the pp. look at this message and scroll a little bit down to the youtube link. Maybe this will help some people out with their paperpiecing skills.

I make all of my quilts to be used. After all the time and love I put into making them, it is rather diheartening to me if they are not used. I remember years ago when my youngest daughter was about 3 years old I made her a hopscotch quilt. She had a blast with that quilt. She and her baby doll hopscotched and picniced with it all the time. I thought my MIL was going to have a heart attack one day when she saw how the quilt was being used.

Me too. Since our spare bedroom doubles as my sewing room, I'll be able to appreciate the quilt when I'm working on another one that way!

I like the idea of quilts being used, but I also have a big empty patch of wall that's begging to have a quilt hanging on it. So I'm thinking that when I finally finish a couple of full-sized quilts, I'll rotate them between hanging them on the wall and using them on the bed :)

I think hanging on the wall is "using" it. It's when they sit in a closet, ignored and lonely, that it's not being used.

Hanging on the wall or on the bed it is a work of art and adds joy to the room. As long as you enjoy the quilt it is doing its job. I agree as long as you don't lock it away somewhere so it won't be seen it doesn't matter how you use the quilt wall hanging or bed cover as long as it makes you happy :!: :D :D :D

i agree that art quilts are "used" just by putting them on display.

no one would ever say a painting isn't used because its hanging on the wall.

they're both art the only difference is the medium used to make it.
