The Crescendo is fabulous, and the learning curve is minimal. You will love it!!!

I agree. I have an old Bernina 1530 that I just love. I went to my best friend's house and was able to sew on her Janome 6600. I could not get the self thread to work. I did like the thread cutter but I kept lifting up the foot first. OOPS !! Instead of a laser line, just line up an acrylic ruler and mark your table with painter's tape. It works just as well.

Kind of like getting a computer. When you walk out the door with it, it becomes obsolete. If it ain't broke do fix it. You said it in your 3rd and 4th sentences. You know how your machine works now but don't know how the new one will work or for how long. Trade-in isn't great but price is right. I would stay with what I've got and save the money for when you will really need a new one. If you love the one you're with why new?

I stand with Dolphyngrl - I bought the Crescendo and sold my Symphony. The upgrade, in my opinion, is huge. The walking foot, the lighting, the harp space all fantastic - and I love the fancy footpedal also. No doubt they will come out with something even more fabulous down the line, and when they do, I'll be first in line if I can afford it. I'm a gadget girl anyway, so will always be tempted by the next big thing. Of course, my mechanical Bernina lives upstairs if all the computers explode.

I agree. I would keep the one that I already love and that works perfectly.
