What about thinking of wall hangings for spring season instead of a quilt? We could do BOTH swaps at the same time! Wall hangings could be four 12" blocks or we could challenge ourselves to do nine 6" blocks. Perhaps the springtime flower theme (if that is what we would like to do) could be the 12" blocks, and we could do the red, white and blue - great colors for everyone - in the 6" blocks. Thoughts?

Do you mean on-point? I think that would be fun!!

Ooooohhhh!!! One at a time, please!! Us full time employed people have a hard enough time doing one pattern.

Love the idea of 6" blocks in springtime fabrics. We could make baskets full of flowers and set them on point. The baskets could be applique or patchwork and the flowers could be applique or broderie perse. But let's wait until after January 31 when the chocolate and raspberry block swap is over. I get eager whenever I visit the Quilting Board Site and learn what all the quilters are planning.

Im still a beginner so I would rather stick with any pattern we each chose and just have a certain color theme. I think red white and blue would be fun, but spring colors are fabulous as well. :) Im in for either of those two.

I've been keeping a list of the suggestions that have been made so that we can pick our swaps for the future. Here's what we've had listed so far.

The ones that have an X in front are the swaps we've already done:

1. Purple-Primary color (misc. secondary)
2. Purple & Orange/Scarlet/Gold
3. Purple & Lime/Chartreuse Green
4. Green & Pink
X5. Chocolate Raspberry
6. Mint Chocolate
7. 1970's Hippie Style
8. Sea
9. Flowers
X 10. Christmas
X11. Fall Colors (orange, brown, green, gold)
X12. Dear Jane Sampler
X13. Yellow and Blue
14. Sylvia’s Bridal Sampler
15. Circles/Dots
16. Alphabet
17. Red & White
18. Nine Patch Scrappy
19. Green & Neutrals
20. Baskets on Point
21. Red/White/Blue
22. Pastels

We could do pastels (or some other springy combo such as purple/green, green/pink, etc.) to be due March 31st.

And then a red/white/blue swap to be due May 31st.

If we decide to do this, we can maybe set up a vote for what springy/pastel combo we want to do.
