Very awesome! Sure wish I had someone in my family who could work with wood. I could keep them busy full time!

JP,

Great job on the case. If it has not been stained or painted, tell him to wipe the wood down with low odor mineral spirits then wipe on a coat of oil base stain such as MinWax gunstock or some other color to your liking. Follow can directions and after a few days drying time, topcoat it with a water base polyurethane finish. See the pic of the extension table I made for one of my 128's using the above instructions. Tell him to keep up the good work.

Soman, thanks for the tip, I will certainly tell him. I like your extension table. I had asked him to try and make it wider on the needle end of the machine, but either he could not figure out how, or he got the end mixed up and that is why the storage end is so big . For piecing blocks and stuff the small sewing area is fine, but it does not take long to need more area to support whatever you are working on. Like your machine too, is it a crinkle?

Thanks again everyone for the kind remarks,
Jp

Yes, it's a 1951 crinkle or godzill if you prefer, finish centennial model with the blue Singer badge. My wife was born in 51' so I just had to have it! And the best part is the fact that both are holding up very well!!LOL
