What a wonderful tribute to your mother. With 10 kids I can't imagine how she had the time to even start one, let alone all that she did.

These quilts are fabulous, what wonderful treasures they will be for the family. So sorry for the loss of your Mother, even when we know it's coming, it doesn't make it easier.

You really took on a gift giving job, I'm sure your mother knew you would come to the rescue... I am also originally from SD. So welcome aboard.

What a beautiful lasting legacy of love! So much tradition and care from your grandmother on down! Isn't it wonderful that in your family everyone has felt that love through the generations? I have a few things my mom made for me or my daughters, mostly crocheted, but I am starting to branch out from crocheting, my first love, to quilting. I have made a few small quilts for my kids & hubby. This weekend I gave a little toddler quilt to my granddaughter, for her to use at daycare, and she carried it around with a huge smile, wrapped herself in it, pulled/spun around her little brother on it, and generally let me know she loves it! Stitched with love indeed!
