I'm ready to cry "Uncle"-help me not to give up!

I like this idea and have actually done this myself. Worked on one square at a time!
You've started some very ambitious quilting... but awesome! Maybe set yourself a goal of one block per week, get it out at the start of the week and get that one block done. Then put it away til the next week. That way you will get it finished. It's going to be amazing so pace yourself and get it done.

You might want to try a straight edge quilting ruler and a darning foot, feed dogs down. You'll be moving the ruler not the quilt. Takes a little time to get used to, but worth it in the end.
Another thought: this is a modern quilt soooo the lines don't necessarily need to be excessively straight!
