Wonderful job your son did there. Working with wood seems to be a forgotten art. Tell him to keep it up : )

Thank you all. As for orders I need to talk it over w/dh and son and see if it is anything he (son) would be interested in doing. He might just like that.

Excellent job!! Is the machine missing the reverse lever? I hope not, but it does look like it.

Yes, and half the tension assembly. But, the motor and light, which are not pictured, are here.

wow he did a great job , I could use him to make a base for a machine that the airlines crushed and haven't been able to use it cuz no base to hold it up, the sewing center here said they don't make that size anymore. so sad, I need to find someone local who likes to do workworking.

keep that son close and ready for more fix it jobs

I agree with Rodney. It's hard to believe a 14 year old could do so well. Thanks for sharing his talent with us.

That is super, and especially since your son is 14. What talent and thinking ability!

I think you will find the compartment to the right of the machine to be handy for all those things we need when we sew: seam ripper, scisssors, extra thread, needle threaders, etc.

Now if he will make you an extension, you will have the best of all worlds. Do be sure he keeps a somewhat wider piece of wood to the front of the extension as that makes feeding the fabric easier. It needs to be well sanded and if he uses polyurethane on the wood, it makes it easier for the fabric to slide. (My husband made one for me.)
