    I used a new batting (for me). It is Soft and Stable from Annie.com. It is advertised for "bags and beyond". Was very easy to work with. I made 10 mats from one piece 36x58", and I THINK it cost about $8.00. I don't seem to have the catalog it came out of, so am not sure of that price. I really liked using it.
    Later- I looked online and it is more like $12-$13 for that amount of batting.
