    Yep, jbening had a good idea to pull the back over for the binding. You will be glad when 40 finally arrives!

    I make my mug rugs 8 by 10 inches with insul-brite so they can also be used for hot pads. Also I have the backing 1 inch larger all the way around, bring it to the front and fold the edge under instead of a separate binding and use a decorative stitch on it. That speeds up the process since I don't have to sew on the binding.

    Have fun with using lots of colors and prints.

    Great start, you will perfect them by the time you are finished. Can't wait to see more and I wish I had someone to iron while I sewed

    Very nice! I like to make mug rugs too but that is a lot! Sometimes to avoid binding I stitch around, leave opening, and turn, then stitch around edge a couple times.
