Love this tutorial. It sure beats shelling out money for templates. I will be doing this soon. Going to make some mug rugs!

I was talking to a friend of mine who appliques all the time and she told me what she uses. She said she uses washers, you can get them at the hardware store in many sizes. She cuts the circles larger than the washer, bastes around the edge, and pull tight. You then iron and after it cools you can remove the thread and washer and you have perfect circles. I thought it was a great idea, I am going to try it next time I need berries on an applique piece.

Wow I have to make some tiny berries for a wall hanging about 50 of them and want try this, would be so much better, thank you for sharing.,
