CoventryUK, that is how I do mine. Also working on 1inch Hexie's with 2.5 squares. Sometimes I cut the excess fabric, sometimes not. I also use heavy paper or excess photo sheets and cut them all at one time. No problems removing them as I go and if taken care of can be reused. [ATTACH=CONFIG]475500[/ATTACH][ATTACH=CONFIG]475501[/ATTACH] Right now I'm just sewing them in color groups so not really a flower garden. Still trying to visualize how I want the outcome. From the 2nd pic, you see where the paper is left in till all 6 sides are sewn, then I just pop them out.

Thankyou!! I really need to get cracking on this and get it finished!!! I keep getting sidetracked with other projects!! So much fabric...so little time!!!. (But it beats housework!!!)

Have a question ..... have a GFG STARTED but am only doing a center with one round of printed hexies with an outer round of solid white. Have 88 of these. How many does it take to make a full size quilt? Also thought maybe these could be used for the top surface of the bed with overhang of a white border with a floral applique. Thoughts?
