Never heard that before. I have heard of Lone Star quilts being a blessing or gift in Native American circles?

Sounds like someone was having a difficult time with a pattern and felt as if her project was*cursed*...I don't think any particular pattern has a supposed*curse*...its just some times many of us get into a project that feels cursed.

Jennifer Chiaverini talks about the story of the Wandering Foot quilt in one of her early books - myth here: http://nancycabotsewalong.blogspot.c...ilt-block.html

I don't know anything about a quilt being cursed but there have been times when I have cursed while quilting. LOL

I heard that Drunkard's Path was not to be used for a wedding quilt or for a child's quilt as that would be a "curse" for the recipient.

WOW, never heard of any of these curses. I have done at least 6 Lone or Broken star quilts. You really have to have accuracy and pressing down to perfection otherwise you can end up with a wonky star.

In pioneer times was a curse for the bride to be to have a Drunkard's Path (Wandering Foot) quilt in her quilt dowry.

Thanks for all that have answered! And yes I have done several that just about made me curse! LOL (Job's Trouble being one of them! LOL) Seems like (not really sure....) something about only having one of the Lone Star quilt...?? It is terrible to hear something and later can not remember how it went! LOL So thanks to those who have answered.
