I use them all the time. I got aggravated with the prices being charged just because something was "quilting" related/labeled. Never had a problem.

I've tested them on scraps with no problems, but I'm still scared to try on an actual quilt! Just call me chicken

Thanks everyone ! I just started marking a baptist fan on a quilt with a water soluble marker. I am not sure how long it will last me, so I may be brave and switch over. I will make sure to test before I do!

Wow, I never thought of using those. I learn something new every time I come here.

I use the Crayola Washable Fine Markers all the time. I do not use the black but have had all th other colors wash out completely.

I haven't used the washable markers, but I do use my set of Frixion pens all the time. The heat from your iron will make the marks disappear.

I've used the Crayola washable markers countless times for marking quilting designs. The marks have always disappeared completely when the quilt was washed. I will say that using the markers on brightly-colored batiks doesn't always work -- the batiks are so bright that I often can't see the marks. In those cases, I just have to "wing it." On one of my quilts, I resorted to printing out my quilting designs, pinning the sheets of paper to the quilt sandwich, quilting through the marks, then tearing the paper away. Ya gotta do whatcha gotta do, right?

I've used them for years. I use all the colors including black and red depending on the color of the fabric and what colors I have left. I have ironed over it and it still came out. I have left a quilt top marked for over a year and it still came out. Love them. I usually buy them when they have the back to school sales. I have used an off brand name and they worked just as well.

I use the fine tip washable markers but I do test on fabric before I use it. I have never had any problems.
