Hi! Working on my very first quilt.
Hi Everyone!
My name is Lori and I'm from Oklahoma. I'm a seasoned knitter and crocheter that decided to take up sewing about a few months ago (sewing the backs to my knitted or crocheted pillows and things is WAY more time efficient that weaving them, SUCH a time saver!). I used to machine sew in my 20's but stopped, so I'm pretty much learning everything new.
Well now I want to try quilting, it's all I can think about in my free time and I was super surprised to learn that we have several LQS here along with machine retailers. So awesome!
I did take some online classes at craftsy and even though all those fancy cut quilts catch my eye I decided on a very simple square pattern with sashing. So that is what I'm tackling right now.
I hope to learn a lot and make some new friends, none of my friends craft at all let alone sew/quilt so it will be nice to talk to like minded people!
Also I have several quilts from my Grandmother, some that won awards that need restoration badly and maybe even need to be recreated and hopefully one day in the far away future, I'll be able to do that in memory of her.
Look forward to joining in here and maybe later I'll be brave enough to join my local guild.

Welcome! Always glad to see a newbie joining in, be sure and show us your progress. First quilts are always magical. If you run into any problems be sure and ask. There are a lot of really generous people on the Board that are always willing to share their knowledge.
