My suggestion would be to get a sturdier table. I have never had fibration on a sturday table, but sewing is almost impossible on a card table, foam mat or not.

I bought the set for foot peddle and machine. Love it and when they have their sale. It is worth every penny. When you get them you will need to air them out for a day or two -- glue makes them really smell bad.

The mats that the home stores and even the dollar tree stores sell for letting your dishes sit to dry are a little thicker than the palcemats and they work pretty good under my machine.

I use a carpeted stair tread. It's the right size and right shape. The machine vibrates much less and doesn't travel. Now if I could find the perfect solution for the foot pedal!

Thanks everyone for the help.

I came across some flexible silicone hot pads-----------big. They are great for non skid. But DD wanted them for hot pads.

Another suggestion might be the foam kneeling pads that gardeners use. They are an inch and a half or so thick which might present a problem.

The thick cushy dish drying mats sold at Walmart work great too.

I use a piece of 1/2 in thick carpet padding under my portable machines-left over from a carpet job. I also affixed some on all my foot pedals. Now I have no more traveling machines on the table tops or foot pedals on the hardwood floor.
