Oh my goodness, look at all the help you got this morning. Welcome to this board, and like someone said, this is only the beginning--my kids all say I have at least 100 sewing machines in my "collection". I just can't walk by and see a machine left sitting, especially at $10, no matter what it is or whether it works or not. Then I come home, and ask for help and get it from this board (even though they all holler at me to do a picture); and first thing you know I have another old machine up and going.

Hey,
We were all beginners at one time or the other. I'm still just a rank amateur myself! If I were independently wealthy, I'd be collecting a lot more of these vintage/antique machines, but I'm not, and besides I'd have to move out of my house to find a place to put them!

I started with a 1941 15 that my brother gave me. Four have been sold so I'm down to 18. The best thing I learned was how to post pictures. Now I can post success as well as pleas for help.
By the way, has anyone found a source for Chicago style plugs? They were used on White, especially the octagon table.
