Default Look what I saw at the Sewing Machine Store!

I took my high-end Juki for repair to a sewing machine repair and resale shop not too far from my home in Japan. They are selling this replica for about $200. The store owner was gracious enough to let me take a picture.

It's very pretty. It looks like a 15 clone with drop feed and I bet you couldn't find a nicer set of decals.

Interesting machine. With the English name I would have thought it was intended for export. Looks like that one never left home. Pretty decals. It looks new.

The picture I posted is a replica of an old Japanese clone.

I've seen the replicas with a butterfly and Sphinx, but not a bluebird. Thank you for the picture.

So it is new. I mistook it for an old clone.

How NEW is new for the "replicas"? Do they have serial numbers? Are they just some out in the last couple years? I saw one on Craigslist I am sure is a replica posted as an antique and I doubt even the seller knows it's a replica.

Gaijin,

That is one pretty machine. Question; did it say Singer any where on it you could see?

I have a picture collection in the making of Clones from A to Z and have added this machine to my collection. Hope that's OK with you.

I found an Elite machine very similar to this--was made in the 1940's in Japan after Singer released the pattern for the Featherweights to the company. Apparently it was a successful machine.
