Isn't great having sisters? I have many sisters, and we are each crafty but in different directions. My older sister makes stained glass creations, another does flower arrangements, one is an expert in herb gardening. We all trade our handiwork and keep an eye out for items the other may want. Just yesterday I received 2 books in the mail, each loaded with patterns for making handbags....yup, dear sister sent them!

My family uses their scraps or unwanted material as packing whenever we ship something to each other. This makes a 2 for 1 goodie package! If I travel to visit, I take along a "hostess " box and let my relative dig through and keep what they want. Most of the time, they keep the entire box! I look forward to when they come to visit. Looking through their cast offs give me the same giddy feeling as a kid in the candy store!

You ladies are so lucky to have sisters. I have one brother who is 73 and in very poor health and unable to do anything, even talk now so I can't call and talk to him, and to far to travel and see him. I live in FL and he lives in Winnipeg, MT Canada. I e-mail with my sister in law of 40+ years and send him messages. Treasure the family you have, they are so special and no one lives forever.

What a generous sister! I'm the youngest of 12 (8 boys, 4 girls) and the only one that does the artsy stuff. I always told Mama that she saved the best for last!

Sisters can be great. While my sister was still alive, she would periodically purge her stash, usually during a move to a smaller place. Then when she passed away, my nieces sent over all her fabrics. Unfortunately, I could not keep them all, as we were forced to downsize from a 3-bedroom, 2 sewing area house to a 2 bedroom apt. with a very small sewing space. I did, however, pass it on to a dear friend, who passed what she couldn't use to a mutual friend who made charity quilts for local hospitals. I think Mary Ann would be happy the fabric was getting used and for a good cause as well.
