Hi Sandy, Lost two of the shops in the past few years. One of favorite ones of course. I have one shop VERY close and the fabric is beautiful but I think a bit limited, but seems to be expanding some. Classes I have seen there seem to be geared toward machine quilting. Just found another one on line though, hopefully it won't close too! Unfortunately I am a bit restricted by health, driving an hour or evening classes is out for me. Bummer.

Just a thought - why do you mitre the corners? Unless its a stripe or border print of course. I know a few quilters who mitre everything, mostly unnecessarily, because they feel its more 'advanced'. Don't set yourself up for this headache unless you need to mitre.
In saying that, if you do need to mitre the borders due to the print, BASTE BASTE BASTE!!!
